Teaching

Our overall career goal is to establish a diverse, long-term, and internationally recognized research program that is integrated with and complementary to outstanding teaching and outreach programs at the intersections of the fields of applied ecology and conservation biology. Regardless of what courses we teach, we always aim to provide the students with:

  1. The necessary scientific foundations, ecological concepts, techniques, and methods to broaden their knowledge about ecology and conservation biology.
  2. The necessary level of exposure to typical field environments that ecologists and
environmental practitioners should know and be aware of.
  3. Training and mentoring help them build strong research skills and succeed in conducting independent research projects.
  4. Support in developing critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, networking, and team-building skills, all of which are crucial for a successful professional life.
  5. Quantitative, writing, and verbal skills.
